    There are so many variables to consider. Typically an attorney will have better earning power than a Sales Representative, however, there are exceptions. Average salaries in 2009 for first-year associates is expected to range from $81,000 to $91,000 at large law firms, $66,250 to $79,500 at mid size law firms, $61,000 to $69,250 at small/mid size law firms, and $50,500 to $63,000 at small law firms. Sales Representatives for the most part determine their income in the form of commission and bonus and can earn more or less than the numbers noted above. I would suggest you need to consider what the commission structure is for the sales position and then figure out how motivated you are as your motivation level will determine how much you sell. The same is true for the legal profession as well.... If you work hard as a lawyer you can earn a very substantial living. Good luck to you whatever you choose!!
