How do i act and dress like a lawyer?

  I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV but some of our friends are attorneys or work in corporate legal departments so my observations are based on their work attire. Go sit in the lobby of a big law firm or your local courthouse to get an idea about how to dress like an attorney. Then head to your local thrift shop and find something reasonably appropriate. Black or gray is a safe bet. Wear a button down shirt with a collar. Buy or borrow a black or dark cardigan sweater if you can't buy a suit. It's better if the jacket or sweater is the same color as the skirt or pants. Wear high heel simple pumps and nylon stockings. Buy a cheap pair of reading glasses at the lowest strength for the illusion of intelligence or seriousness. Wire-rimmed are good for that. Look what it did for Harry Potter! Get them in any drug store or Target. Borrow a briefcase or valise from someone. Light on the makeup and if you have long hair, wear it up. You might even consider a costume or formalwear rental for a day instead of buying all the stuff yourself. Best of luck. kmr
