A personal Assistant is used in a wide term, and can be open to many different job fields. You can be a personal assistant to an Executive, or you can be a personal assistant to the President of the PTA at your child's school. So it just depends on who you are a personal assistant to. The term Executive assistant is a title to who you are a personal assistant to. You're both doing the same job, for different people who may or may not out rank each other. If both bosses work for the same company, one may out rank the other, thus telling his personal assistant to pass along his wish, but his/hers personal assistant does not out rank you.
