Does Skype reply back to emails?

Can I use msn, skype, or emails if I work in an American company?

  • are most of the American companies exhibited the employees using msn, skype, or emails when working or this is just the way they are?

  • Answer:

Many companies have a "company policy" prohibiting using online services for email or voip for personal use. Some companies network administrators actively block access to those services. But, if those services are not blocked, and the company still has a "policy" prohibiting use of online services like MSN, Skype, Google Talk, etc, then if you get caught, they may have the right to discipline you or worst case, fire you for disobeying company policy. My wife's company had a policy prohibiting such use of Skype and Google Talk, etc. She installed Google Talk so she and I could talk over Internet, keeping her phone free for incoming calls. The company network admin had "software tracking" installed and found out she was using Google Talk. Once they found out, she was ordered to stop using those services immediately, according to company policy. Companies can monitor your online activities. And, if you get caught doing something against company policy, it just depends on how much they value you as an employee as to what the consequences are...
