When did "A Christmas Carol" take place?

What year does Charles Dickenson's A Christmas Carol take Place?

  • I've been assigned a project on it and I need info

  • Answer:

If you don't mind me correcting you, I believe it is Charles DICKENS not DICKENSON. I think early-mid 1800's... It's hard to tell but If you read the book you sorta can.. so read it. :)

I have never heard of Charles Dickenson. "A Christmas Carol" was written by Charles DICKENS.

I know it was set in the Victorian period in london, so that would put it somewhere in the mid 1800's. it was published in december 1843, and several parts of the story reflected life in london at that time, (especially the parts regarding the poor, and several other locations that scroodge visited with the ghost of christmas present). i don't think the story itself ever gives an exact year, so that 's the best i can tell you. I'll post again if i find any other evidence.

The author's name is Dickens. You might be confusing him with the American poet Emily Dickenson. Dickens was a Victorian author and Christmas Carol is full of references to his own period. So I'd say it is sometime in the mid to late 1800s.
