Why don't people want to put up Christmas lights?

It could be a variety of reasons, for me since.i live in an apartment, its too complicated, for others, they might not want to pay for having it done (off duty firefighters charge for this) or having to replace them because they stop working after one use, like somebody else said, the increased electric bill.

Maybe people are just really busy nowadays. It seems like people never take time off to relax except for the days right around the holidays. If the weather is too cold people wouldnt bother either.

It might be to do with their electricity bill. Maybe it's just because they're Scrooging.
