Does Google penalize you for duplicate content?

What does Google consider duplicate content?

  • If there are several different domains, and a blog post is added to each, how different do they have to be to avoid being penalized for having duplicate content?  Can lets say 20% of the words be changed?  More?  Does the order of the sentences or paragraphs matter and are considered as different (I imagine not)?  Are plagiarism sites sites helpful to determine if the content is unique for Google?  Thanks!

  • Answer:

There is a tips for your for avoiding duplicate content. Lets assume you have a article for .us and .http://co.uk blog and you have 100% same content. Now for avoiding the duplicate content you can include or modify the content according to US and UK language and the currency, many time this is not considered as duplicate content. But to be safe side you can have different content for each TLD blogs.

Let me ask you something. Why does it matter? Mediocre content is mediocre content. You can switch words and sentences around all you want, no one will read it. And posting it on many websites will only dilute your almost non existing traffic. Nothing is easy! Stop cutting corners and work hard at something! Write one GREAT article instead of 10 bad articles and people will visit it. If you still decide to go and spin articles then here is a tip. Google will look at which site got indexed with that content first and give most weight to it. --best Arseniy
