-
Your activities on sites like Stack Overflow/techgig gives you reputations/scoresĀ good/bad and that are very closely related to your attitude towards programming, helping your colleagues, understanding of the practical concepts, etc. In all these are a nice place to hire good programmers. But does IT companies in India even care to look at these sites while hiring programmers?

Answer:
the job market in India is very volatile and it runs on the need of industry so in nutshell if you are talking about traditional service companies they never look at something like this.. but yes some biggies does pay attention to this kind of social activeness,..even smaller companies in which young blood is driving the wheels this will matter...other wise you are good.
