What's it like to be a waitress (PLEASE)?

  Okay, im a waitress. I was first hostess, but then they told me one day to be a waitress. (the restaurant i work is....eh..not like a typical restaurant) So i never really had proper training. But usually, you follow a waiter/waitress that has some experience, and help that waitress/waiter. You right down the orders, but you have to KNOW THE MENU!!! If you have no food runner, then thats what you have to do. (take food to your table) Computers are simply telling the kitchen the order. It can be hard if its your first time, but you'll get used to it. To go get your food, well i simply check back there. If an order is ready, then just take it to the table. even if its not your food. (there will be a ticket that will say for what table, and what the order is.) Your going to have a bunch of tables. 4 to 5 at once if its busy. Maybe even more. When its slow, well..not many tables. Restaurants usually are split by sections. Lets say there are 5 of us working. Then we are assigned a section so we don't have to be all over the restaurant. (All tables have a number, so waiters know where to take food, and if it's their section etc. Eh...that's it i guesss :)
