    Nursing is a great career for you to get into. Start looking into Universities with 4 yr Bachelor programs in Nursing to get your BSN. You'll have much better opportunities open for you with that degree, and much better chance of working for top notch hospitals like CHOP. You can start searching colleges online. Start with those in your state and search out their nursing programs. When you start back to school in the fall, use the guidance counselors at your school. They'll have a ton of information and can steer you towards great colleges close to you and in other states if you are interested. They'll also look over your curriculum and make sure you are taking the course you need to apply to the Universities and get into a Nursing program. My daughter graduated with her BSN in Dec. 2006. She was a top student and got a job at a wonderful children's hospital in their ICU in Ohio. She received a ton of additional training and a 9 month orientation program. She's a really great Pediatric ICU nurse and is currently working in that field as a travel nurse - tons of opportunities and a very interesting life. (currently working in Washington State as a PICU travel nurse as she wanted to experience the NW area of U.S.)

I had a really hard time doing my pediatric rotation (kids) b/c I hated being the bad guy holding the needle! It was hard to see kids hurting and sick. Being in a hospital is not fun for them. But I would suggest you get your bachelors of science in nursing and then try to get hired at the children's hospital if that's what you want.
