    Hello- I teach a medical assisting program, and the big difference is pay...I think it is worth it to become a registered nurse, because just as with medical assisting, you can go in so many different directions...you could do chart reviews, do administrative work, become a supervisor or nurse manager...etc...do some more research on your career choice, because time is money!!! Good luck...it would have been better if you started MA first maybe, then went on to take the RN course...now-it would be like going backwards...you might as well go for it.
