I have to agree, do not waste your time becoming a medical assistant if you want to become a nurse. Why not do the CNA program if you want to get some medical experience under your belt before nursing? If you go to a career college(for profit) then none of your classes will transfer, but if you go to a community college then only your generals will transfer. Here in California only LVNs and Psych Techs can upgrade to the RN program. I went into medical assisting a few years ago and it didn't benefit me any except as knowledge for future careers.
