What is a better career Dental Hygienists or Clinical Medical assistant?
-
I dont think that clinical medical assistant is a hard career but is Dental Hygienist a hard career?
-
Answer:
A dental hygienist is an actual health care provider, while a medical assistant is just that...an assistant to providers. Hygienists are in very high demand, make great money, and can usually set their own schedules. It's not an easy career path, though - and it's not quick. If you want something you can start doing quickly, that would be a clinical medical assistant, as long as you choose a diploma program and not a degree program. Starting wage for a new MA in the state of Arizona is between $8 and $12 per hour...which is waaaaaay less than the $40 per hour that a dental hygienist can make.

Since most careers related to the health care industry are good to go into, you need to look at how hard you want to work for you schooling. Dental Hygienists in my area are limited to only one community college offering the program. So the acceptance criteria is very rigid and set a high standard. There are 5 community colleges that send their students to this school. So out of 170-200+ students per year, only 36 get accepted. Once you are in the program, you will have two years of what can only term as intense course work and clinical exposure. This school is one of the best in my state. Once you graduate, you are all but begged to come and work. The pay is great once you have put in the hard work to get through school. (Hourly wages range from $27-34 per hour.) Part-time or full-time, they want you; there are always ads. As for the clinical medical assistant, I do not know how hard that program would be- but I imagine that it is not a cake walk and takes hard work and dedication. Good luck with your choice.

Dental hygienist. My roommate graduated from school in January which was difficult, but everything in life worth having takes hard work. Her pay is just amazing. Her work is not really that hard. She see around 6 patients a day. Look into dental hygienist that is the way to go. My brother is a medical assistant and he got paid crappy, and was ran ragged the entire shift.
