The state you are in does not matter; the requirements are national. You have 2 basic routes: the bachelors PA program (not many left); the masters PA program (2-2.5 years after a science bachelors degree) and the doctorate (only 2 programs so far). All require science pre-reqs and almost all require varying degrees of medical experience (up to a year or so). Competition is very fierce. the national organization is aapa.org
