What does pediatric nursing involve?

What careers work with babies or hospital settings that don't involve nursing school? i?

    A lot of people say "I'm no good at math and science" but the honest truth is that you probably just don't like it and then don't really give it your all when it comes to studying it. Nothing is unteachable. And the math you need in nursing is really only basic algebra, solving simple equasions. Probably only requires one review course to get you up to college level algebra, and many programs don't require you even need a full algebra course, just a specialized "nursing math" course is offered at a lot of schools. And the kind of science you might have had in the past might not have been interesting, but at a college level, with labs, you might find you enjoy it more. If you work hard, study hard, ask questions of your instructors, get tutoring help (usually offered for free by many community colleges) you can get it done. I've said it a thousand times, it doesn't take someone with the IQ of Einstein to get into nursing school, just someone who will put in a little hard work. Good luck.

If you really want to "work" with babies and interact with them then look into things like pediatric physical therapy, play therapist or even nursery school teaching. People seem to think that pediatric nurses sit around all day and just have fun playing with the kids & cuddling the babies. Which is completely untrue. So these people get discouraged because they don't realize what neonatal nursing does. Explore more options out there to get a better idea of what suits you.
