What's the difference between an RN and a practical nurse?

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REGISTERED NURSE AND A ENROLLED NURSE? WHAT CAN A RN DO THAT A EN CANT DO?

• Answer:

  Enrolled nurses where phased out in the 80's. You still get the odd ones but they are normally older and ready for retirement. EN's where originally basic nurses who did not do medication rounds, there training was for 2 years, and became C grade nurses. Some EN's converted to RN's. Staff nurses (RN) had/have 3 years training either diploma, advanced diploma or degree route and have more responsibilty and became D grade nurses.. You will not find a course which does EN training i am afraid.
