How long does it take to get a nursing degree?

  • Answer:

I went to school in Pa. Every state is different. my story. I went to school for LPN, thru regular college, not a votech. The votech here is 10 months. It took me 18 months but I went that route because I knew I was going on for my RN and wouldnt have to take all the other courses later. After I got my LPN, I worked for 5 years. I then went back for my RN. 1 year and I was done. (going straight for RN is 2 years. not 4) If you have completed classes for another degree they will transfer some of them over. More than likely you will just have to take the sciences and nursing classes but the actual nurisng classes, wheether taken with other classes or not takes 2 years. I make $45.00 an hour as a travel nurse. I travel the US. They pay all my housing costs and I get to pick where I want to go. I paid a total of about $20000 for my schooling. My employer reimburses my loan payments monthly.

It depends on what branch of nursing you want to get into and how long you're willing to spend in school. To be an RPN, it's two years. To be an RN, it's four years.

i don't know as far as liberal studdies- rn is a 2 or 4 yr degree- some of the classes u have taken might work as pre-req's or 10 months for lpn
