  • Answer:

You will major in nursing in college (nursing school) to become a practical nurse it you must have at least a associates degree in nursing which usually takes 2 years plus 1-2 years of the nursing program prerequisites. But a bachelors degree for registered nurses is becoming much more more common for registered nurses and a bachelors degree will lead to more opportunities. Usually a bachelors of science in nursing (BSN) degree will take 4 years. In high school you should take science courses, honors if possible. The most important classes to take are Chemistry, biology, and anatomy (if your high school offers it). There are different types of nurses. Different fields nurses can specialize in include obstetrics/maternity, oncology, trauma, ICU. Well becoming a nurse is "easier" than becoming a physician but nursing school is very challenging and competive you will have to be very committed to it.
