How many years does it take to become a Physician Assistant (PA)?

Is it possible to go from being a PA (Physician Assistant) to an MD? Please explain?

I'm not going to pretend like I know anything about this field, but I will ask you, do you really want to be a doctor? The responsibilities are crazy, and you could turn into a bitter old ninny....I work for a doctor, and while she is very nice, she has the lives of hundreds of people on her mind. Also, the other doctors who call are totally jerks. Just something to think of, thanks for answering my question.
