Do I have to become a LPN to become a RN?

    an LPN will get paid less. Their education is not as long as an RN's education. The RN education usually includes a BS degree while the LPN education can either be accomplished through an Associates degree or training at a technical school. Medically they can do just about the same thing. Although an RN will have more options and will make more money. The RN will have chances to advance career wise than an LPN... as in supervisor. etc. That being said if you feel you don't want to invest the time to get an RN degree right now... you could pursue the LPN path... work in a hospital sitting for a year then apply with the hospital to take classes that would then give you an RN degree while you work.
