  You want the certification because of the enormous legal ramifications and very real possibility of malpractice lawsuits. You need all the training and certs you can get, to try & practice with out these is just an invitation to be sued. You should look very closely into the job availabilities and what would actually be required to hold that job and what insurance you need to carry, as well as what back-up is necessary. This is one profession where you do NOT want to skimp on any requirement. Good luck.
