Answer:
Okay... i know you wanted to hear back from people who were nurses, I'm not a nurse. I did, however, get through the first year of nursing school. What i would suggest, before you start, is try to find a local hospital (usually "teaching" hospitals will have NO problem with it) that will let you "shadow" a nurse for a few days (do it more than once, cuz they have different things going on on different days, and if possible, different areas of the hospital. I wanted to be a pediatric nurse, or trauma/er nurse, and i was sponsored by the hospital. According to the agreement i signed, they would pay for nursing school, and i would just have to agree to work at the hospital for however many years i went to school, however, i had to work where they needed nurses, in the med-surg area, and it would be at least 3 years before i could try to go to a different area) However, after being in nursing school for a full year, and doing really well, (i had an a in the class, an a in labs, and a b in clinicals) i decided it wasn't for me... I'm not even going to lie to you. It is tough. if you want on a scale of 1 to 10, id give it at LEAST an 7, and i'm a good student and an easy learner, this was through a community college, it was just an associate of science in nursing, if you are talking about going to a university for a bachelors, it will probably be harder. I can just about guarentee its going to be easy for you to get a job in nursing, either at a hospital or a doctors office (depending of course on what state you live in and how far you are willing to drive) but if you are wanting to work in a specific area of the hospital, it may be a totally different story. I think you should definately give it a fair shot, if its something you want to do, and you want to take care of people, and for it to be more personal than being a doctor, definately follow your dream, and if you are cut out to do it, more power to you, its definately a profession in which i respect the people involved!

On a scale of 1- 10, i will rate it 8 to 9. But if you really like nursing, your passion will overide all the difficulties you may encounter. If there is a will, there is a way.You have to be emotionally strong, fast in thinking and compassionate. You do not have to work in a hospital when graduate. You will much more relaxing if you work for private clinic. Salary range from 1700 and above in singapore. It will be quite easy to get a job when graduate. If you are doing something you love to do, you will be more likely to succeed.
