    There is no accredited training institute in medical transcription. You should ideally do a full-time training. However, part-time can be successful too, provided you are too hard working a person. (2) You should at least work 6 months in an office setting before you can start working independently from home. (3) You can get jobs in Middle East with your MT experience but you might not have too much of luck to use MT experience to get visa to countries like UK, Australia, USA, or Canada. However, you can get a job provided your husband has a visa and if you are looking for a job when you are there and again if you have a visa which allows you to work. Hope that helps.

Most courses allow you to complete the coursework on your own schedule. If you spend full time on it, you complete faster. Just make sure your school is an AHDI-approved school. The large outsource transcription services all utilize home workers. Most also require 1 to 2 years' experience. Getting the initial experience is difficult; the school you graduate from will make a difference in your ability to get your first job. There are some medical transcriptionists who work outside the US but are not "offshore;" i.e., they are US citizens who live abroad, such as military wives. This career is currently being promoted as an excellent one for military wives.
