I know this is posted in the Europe section, but I'm gonna answer a little differently :) I don't think there is an easy answer to this question - but it doesn't mean that it can't be done. Patience and perseverance. I'm from India and I live in the States. However, I came here as a student and have been here for the last 15 years. Usually a student visa is the easiest way - but maybe this is not an option for you? If it is - there are a lot of folks @ university who opt for a master's degree after several years of work, so it would not be an unusual thing to do. You would have to take and pass the GRE, and then find a suitable Master's program to apply to (usually 2 yrs, some shorter. The student visa allows you to seek employment during the summer term as an intern. I got a full-time job offer with the company I did my internship, with visa sponsorship). Something to look into for Europe as well. Work-wise: Qatar comes to mind for your industry. Also - are there multinational companies with local branch offices that you can maybe seek employment with, and then move abroad through a foreign assignment? I know several people from back in India who have moved to the US or UK through this option. Brazil: oil and gas industry is a big focus there. Have you considered Brazil at all? Look at this news story about their immigration: http://abcnews.go.com/ABC_Univision/News/brazil-immigration-program-seek-millions-skilled-workers/story?id=18827722 I know that Latin America (primarily Brazil) is fast becoming a key growth sector for a lot of companies. Another option: Malaysia. My company has gone through some expansion there, and there is definitely foreign investment in Malaysia, both in back-office as well as manufacturing centers. Europe has really clamped down on immigration, and it is tougher to get a job in the States and UK too these days. I'm trying to come up with alternative suggestions here, from the obvious. Heck, even India's economy is booming - but I honestly have no clue how easy/difficult it is for people to migrate there. Every time I go back home though, I do see more and more people from other countries have moved there. Here's another shot in the dark: the green card lottery. Yes, the chances are small, but again I have a friend who actually got it. So who knows how good your luck is eh, if you don't try. Egypt is on the list of countries where you are eligible to try : http://www.greencardservice.org/en/list-of-countries-eligible-for-usa-green-card-divercity-visa-lottery-program-dv-2013-us-immigration.html ps - I am truly sorry for what Egypt is going through now. My dad visited there in the 90s and he loved it said it felt 'like hime' :). I truly wish you guys well and hope the turmoil there ends soon, so you can concentrate on economic stability and growth. Sorry there isn't an easier answer - f any other options come to mind, I will add them in. In the meantime - good luck and Godspeed.

None are easy. None are quick. The best and perhaps the only way for you is to obtain a job offer then apply for a work permit. Norway is best for gas and oil.

Britain, you get benefits and a house and they let anyone in
