  Well despite what advice you get make certain you know this: If you Lie and they find out and not hire you, Don't be disappointed. They want to know your work experience. If you have nothing, be honest. If you have specific skills that might be beneficial to the company, it's the reason you're being hired. One thing as a promoter in perfume, is the product You are representing. If you already know what they sell {product name} Learn it, because you want a job doing it. Learn it, first, that's a winner: young and hungry. If you're honest, you will be relaxed. It will be nerve racking and all other applicants and staff will be dressed nicely; wear a suit. Appear clean and smelling good, dressed to sell. You're going to need one anyway. Tie, too, get a clip on. It's best to see what they sell; buy, apply light, not heavy; they smell it all day. If they have their own product line wear one of those; professionals know their own scent. If you don't believe in what you sell, it is not for you. You have to believe in the line you're selling, otherwise, you won't be there long. This is a professional arena, serious people and you need to be a real personable guy, happy; never ever cuss. You're playing with the big boys. If you act like a dope, A,B,C,YA.......It's not your world. Perfume, depending upon if they sell unisex or not, depends on the clientele, wealthier women shop there; important people. So, it's lots of women. You need not be constantly checking them out head to toe with your tongue hanging out. Just try to learn as much as you can about being a promoter of perfume. Google what's expected of you. Study it! I never spend a day not learning. I am old! Just be honest. If it doesn't work out, it's not for you. One thing about today's kids, is they spend less time with their parents, learning what they know. Their time is spent on a computer. There are many bumps and bounces, and learning lessons, sometimes even pain. It's life. Everything you do is how you get experience. Let it empower you! There is no such thing as defeat. I have a question for your parents ? If I had a son/daughter who was 18 and wondering what is he going to do with the rest of his life. I would hope he knew me well enough to know that no matter what happens with him I would calmly teach him how to meet his goals, because it's my job. So, if your son needs information, and he needs it from us, I hope he continues to read and can differentiate the BS from the rest, and to keep asking questions.
