• I accepted a job as Sales Planning Manager for consumer procust company selling Detergant. Can you tell me what should I do as I am new to this job.

  The above is a job title, could cover a number of options: - Planning of what volume you intend to sell to what customers per year. - Planning on potential new customers / potential sales over a year. - Looking at profit from each product / at each customer etc - Planning what sales person goes where next week... Suggest you start with looking at the numbers for last year, who are the customers, what products do they buy, what volume and at what price, whats their profitability. From this look for opportunities to increase profitability at certain customers, look for new customers in similar industries etc. Look at the products you sell and their profitability. You may sell 50 tons of product A a month and only make a small profit but might sell 50Kg of product B and make twice the profit.... Hope you like spreadsheets !
