  I've worked as an Ad Sales Rep for years. I was thrown into it and had to survive by going out there and just going for it. If you have a natural sales ability you will do well. You need to not be afraid of rejection and the will to go for it, tenacity, persistence pays off. A trusting manner with lots of knowledge for the client's business and what their needs are. Being a friendly, on the ball and customer oriented person is key. Also though, depends on the product you are selling. What's the competition to the print publication? is it or what media? You can make good money if you are good at it. I love the job because, with any sales job..if you are good you can make your own job. Sales jobs have alot of freedom if you do well...the boss will leave you alone...(most of the time). You may be asked in the interview are you good on the phone? in person have you sold before etc. Good luck!
