You should go first thing in the morning and "talk" to your supervisor. If your voice is faintly intelligible, you might be able to call. Don't be a no show. Laryngitis is not a condition that requires bed rest. Cashiers are plentiful, and you're easily replaceable. Wal-mart, because of its sheer size, has plenty of applicants in the pool. Much of the decision to hire and fire rests with your supervisor. If you value your job, make sure that you talk to your supervisor.
