What to do on a first time job at McDonald's?

Best first part time job?

  • My daughter is now 14 & 9 months, and wants to get a part time job after school and on weekends, what is a good first Job for her, McDonalds, Hungry Jacks etc?

  • Answer:

What is most important to her right now? The immediate money and the clothes and cell phones that girls her age want NOW! If she is fairly outgoing and could be a good self starter, I think now is an excellent opportunity for her to learn about business. Typically, these small first jobs are a good place to learn to be a follower. A small business can teach her to be a leader. Even small businesses take time to develop a good income. Right now while she is young and has no bills, she can afford to wait while the business income grows. The lessons that she will learn could serve her for a lifetime. Because of her age, you may have to participate in her small business for certain legal commitments. If you are willing to help her this way and if she is interested in learning about the personal freedom that self employment offers, then feel free to write to me for more details. I have many students who I teach the principles of entrepreneurship to. Many of these people are able to earn Thousands of Dollars monthly from their homes at a young age and will probably never have to get a real job. Bruce at [email protected]

Private tutions of any subjects in which she is strong. Check up where the job is, how far from home, how safe it is for young girl to work, the type of co workers, what she likes.,Even in say MacDonalds which branch to work for etc etc And whether any help as correcting papers etc at home, or any other help from home for any project work, typing, copywriting etc etc. Any job with more manual work, strenuous work, risky surroundings to be avoided otherwise she dvelop an aversion for job. Is it absolutely necessary to go fo job. Why not learn knitting, tailoring, cutting, and even prepare for the next course from now. Is she not too young to be sent for job unless economically it is compelling. Even learning cooking from mother etc would help. Some experience for part time courses later on right now, What about gardening, learning music, or instruments to play.May be later on she may develop those talents.

If she works in MCdonalds her clothes will stink of fat from the cooking, trust i have experience, my freinds room stank of MCdonalds. i would suggest at her age she could consider somthing like working at a hairdresser sweeping hair it is an easy job and wil pay her enough, plus she could stack shelves at you local supermartket. very good job.

What about babysitting? Does she like kids, and it won't interfere with school hours/homework as much as a job at say, McDonald's where they ask you to work all hours. Also, when she is hired, tell her to be sure to notify the employer in advance of your scheduled vacation time for the summer if you have done so already. The employer will appreciate advance notice because many times the schedules are made out 2-4 wks ahead.....I choose babysitting because at her age she can choose her own hours and rate of pay, let people know when she is available, etc.
