Why do some joints or injuries hurt more in cold weather?

  Look at it this way. Take a lump of Butter, which is solid in the refrigerator and place it in a hot frying pan and what happens? The solid fat turns to liquid fat. Now take the liquid butter and place it back in the refrigerator and what happens? The liquid butter turns to solid fat. It is the same with the joints that contain synovial fluid a oil that lubricates the joints. So when the temperature is nice and hot the oil is thin and lubricates well. However when the temperature is cold, the oil is thick and so our joints find it harder to move. Best of Luck
