  • Answer:

That happens to me too. My Dr. has me on two potassium pills a day. I retain water, so I have to take two water pills a day. That washes the Potassium out of my body. See your Dr. If you don't drink enough liquids, you will dehydrate and that is a problem. Calcium and other vitamin are a necessary part of you diet. Magnesium is important too. Your electrolytes could be out of whack. Yes, definitely see your Dr. In the mean time drink lots of Gator Aide.

My dad says it helps him to eat alot of bananas (we both have this similar problem). I know that rubbing the pain away is bad because it can create blood clots which are very unhealthy. The best thing you can do is walk it out. They wake me up frequently in the mornings also and It's such a horrible painful feeling! If you find a better cure let me know!

I hate that! It's rare for me though. I just workout my calves a lot more then I used to, now they seem fine. But I believe it is caused by a nutrition deficiency!

So far, I have heard that calcium supplements are supposed to help, drinking water, and of course, muscle relaxers. Because I have fibromyalgia, I have them everyday for a year or two, then none for about that long, then back to it again. I use muscle relaxers at night, so they won't wake me up during the night. But in the morning they start back up after the meds have worn off. It's only one or two, so I don't use the meds during the day, but if I start having more, I'll use them then, too. You might consider asking your doctor if they are right for you.
