How can I pop my ear?

How can I make my ear pop?

  • I get very bad swimmer's ear but the hydrogen peroxide or the "Swimmer's Ear" solution do not work. My ear is SO clogged!!! Any good ideas to help it "pop" ...show more

  • Answer:

Hold your nostrils closed and blow. If you have swimmers ear caused by fungus you need an anti fungal medication from your doctor. Also by adding liquid to swimmers ear you can create more of a problem especially using a cleaning kit. The ear needs to be dried out NOT wet in order to get better

face the ear that is clogged down toward the ground and jump on the same side foot while throwing your head down (kind of like a side ways head bang) so if its your right ear jump on your right foot. this always works for me also try yawning and or swallowing a lot. good luck

try taking a benedryl at night-it will help dry up your ears.it may take a few weeks though.if your ear is full of water then you can't make it pop.try laying down with the affected ear down to see if it will drain.

I had this problem as well. Went to the Dr. and was told that it would cure itself if I held both nostrils and forced air through my nose. Had to do it constantly but it finally helped.

this is what i do. hold your nose and breathe out and your ears do pop. or get some ear cleaning soloution to unclog your ears.

I don't know if this is damaging or not, but if you hold your nose and keep your mouth closed and try to blow air out of your nose, your ears will pop. It could be bad for you though.

If water's in it, I once heard putting rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and sticking it up to your ear is helpful.

I sure am sorry to hear that. Don't know if I can be of much assistance, but I will certainly try. First, more than likely it will eventually pop on it's own. n Of course, in the meantime, it can be uncomfortable and annoying. Try the following if you haven't already or try these steps again as the case may be: 1. Chew gum 2. Blow your nose 3. Purchase a netting pot, normally used to drain sinuses. Following the directions, apply slight pressure to each nostril. Maybe this pressure will unclog your ears. Hope something here helps. I will attempt to add any more suggestions if I can think of one. Hopefully, your ears will be unclogged by that time. Oh, also if you've had tubes in your ears before, you may need to vist a throat, ear, and nose specialist. They have special devices to assist with such problems and people with tubes are more susceptible to such events. And, I don't know whether you incorporated this when you went swimming before or how much help it would offer, but always wear ear plugs when swimming. This should help block most of the water. Hope you feel well again soon.

hold your nose and shut your mouth and try to breath out.
