    Obviously "The Simpsons' have been on twice as long as "Family Guy", but also "The Simpsons' is credited with bringing animated comedy back to prime time television. Back in the 60s we had 'The Flintstones", "Johnny Quest", and others but for a long time there were no animated shows at all on prime time network television. Seth MacFarlane the creator of "Family Guy" has given "The Simpsons" the credit for making way for his show.

It is a very rare thing for a TV show to make it all the way to 20 seasons.. If and when ( and I doubt it will happen ) The Family Guy makes it to 20 seasons, then we'll talk...
