  • Answer:

To soothe a sunburn, pop an oral anti-inflammatory, try cool skim milk & water compresses, aloe gel, and cool baths with oatmeal. Full details on the tips can be found in the link below. Steer clear of any creams that have "caine" in the name - like solarcaine and lanacaine - which can actually be quite stinging and painful. Avoid exfoliating skin to slough off peelies, this will put you at risk for infection since peeling is your body's natural healing mechanism... You've actually gone past the point of sunburn and you've probably done serious damage to your skin, especially if you have blisters. It's not recommended to put any creams etc on when you've got blisters as they could get infected. The most effective treatment would be cold water over the worst parts and maybe a trip to the doctor, because if you're so burnt you're blistering you could have given yourself 3rd degree burns (I did this to myself only recently). On areas without blisters you could use an aloe vera cream or gel, it really helps to soothe. But other than that, you're in a for a long, painful recovery! It took me a week to stop feeling like I was burning and my skin was still red hot to touch. And I wasn't even blistering...

The really bad burning sensation will last about 2 days. You need to sleep in something very soft, or silky. You can use aloe which will sooth the skin. DO NOT USE A SCENTED LOTION!!! It will burn badly because your skin is raw. You can buy aloe that is blue, and it will feel very cold but it will sooth it and help the skin heal sooner, and will lessen the peeling (aloe is a moisturizer).

About 5 or 6 days. Sorry, I have not heard of a magic potion to get rid of a sunburn.

It depends on the severity of the burn. I've never had blisters, but my mild sunburn took a few days to cool down. I used aloe gel about every 2-3 hours, and that really helped. Please use sunscreen next time.

Well your skin got really damaged. I think theres a medicine that gets rid of the pain for sunburns. Your blisters will go away ion a while.
