Ellen DeGeneres Influential?

Ellen showed the comedy world, which was dominated by either male joke tellers or female stereotypes, that a smart simple woman can be funny. Her jokes about toilet paper stuck on your shoe or wearing bathing suits were new to a generation that only knew about male clowns and female sidekicks. Her humor was fresh because it was different. just my opinion.

The other things she's influential for as stated by others are good and I would also add ... she is influential because she shows that despite "fear" that sexual orientation would make a show or star "unmarketable" .. that's not necessarily so. She probably has lots more heterosexual fans than homosexual fans.

She has a very good following she does not rely on bad language to attract viewers. Her time slot is watch by a lot of people.
