When did "Jerry Springer Show" transform from a Oprah-type show to a circus freak show? Which do u prefer

I don't know if I'd quite consider Oprah respectable. Her pretension of sophistication and puffed up attitude about herself makes me ill, and her philanthropy for profit is one-of-a-kind. Her program is like a big infomercial and people don't even realize it. She may as well be Billy Mays.

I don't know when it wasn't a freak show. The only good thing about the show was the final thought. I don't understand how anyon can wake up watching that type of show. When I hear the siren I change the channel. As I do with Bart Simpson, South Park. (poor Issac) Blessed 2008 All

Never watch it any more! It's all hog wash now! He changed for better ratings! Better ratings??? Goes to show you what people like to watch! If no one liked it, it wouldn't still be on. As far as Oprah, don't watch that much any more either! Have a Great Day

its always been a freak show as far back as i remember. i used to like the ricki lake and jenny jones show but those shows are long gone.

I DON'T REMEMBER WHEN BUT I LIKE THE SHOW WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT I LOVED IT BUT NOW I DON'T EVEN BOTHER WITH IT.... I RATHER WATCH MONTEL, DR. PHIL AND OPRAH.... THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW IS ALL STAGED FOR RATINGS I THINK AND I WILL NOT LET MY TEENAGER WATCH THAT SHOW....

his show has ben a cicus for over 10 years and i rarely watch it any more

Are you sure about that? I don't think that Jerry was EVER like Oprah. His show wasn't totally raunchy when it first came out but then it got really bad. The he tried cleaning it up a bit..less fighting, nudity, etc. but I guess he wasn't getting the ratings so it got raunchier.
