  • Answer:

Why was Chiliswoman dr'd? Yes, England takes care of their own. You don't have to be disabled to get dental care, eye care, etc. One point, the U.S. does provide funds for an attendant. $11.50 hr. It is called IHSS. A person by person case as to whether you are eligible for it. I have friends in the UK (not disabled) one is older, 62 and the government started sending him letters telling him he was eligible to start getting his pension payments. Now would the US urge a person to start collecting funds? nope. They hope you die before you can, what with extending Soc. Security benefits age limit, to a higher age. Let us hope Obama keeps the Banks from dipping into the Social Security funds. Sorry I digressed... :)

Yes they do receive a Disability pension...probably more than you would get in the US. They also get quite a few things subsidized by the government such as their rent, travel and medicine.
