  • Answer:

Lots of people use screen readers that are not blind. If you want a free screen reader to try that is web-based: http://webanywhere.cs.washington.edu/wa.php If you have an Apple it is built-in MAC OS X and later. Voiceover: http://www.apple.com/accessibility/voiceover/ Thunder_Free (windows) asks for a donation, but is free: http://www.screenreader.net/ You don't need to blindfold yourself just turn your brightness down.

It shouldn't be too hard to adjust to, I had a friend that went that route and hes doing great. Something else you might want to consider is getting a really nice computer chair or a nice wide couch so you can lean a good distance away from the screen and naps when you need to. Something you might want to consider that I thought was little extreme but my buddy swears by is getting a catheter inserted. That way, you'll only have to leave the chair for those annoying food breaks but that can easily be solved by just getting take out. If you tip them enough they'll be more than happy to walk the food to your room and you won't have to leave the computer for a single second. Fatty.
