Answer:
As I found out with the Virginia Rehab Services back in the early 90's, the state don't help the disabled try to encourage the diabled to put in for any government jobs simply because the government has absolutely no faith in the disabled ability to do anything but clean up after the "normal" people of society. I later had to tell them to go "F*ck off" before they finally got the hint that I will not take any jobs that involve scrubbing some nasty toilet. As result my records got destroyed but I did not need them anyway. I was later able to find my own job and not just some 'crappy' job that involves scrubbing toilets, either.

Good question, the agency called THEO in Canada is supposed to help the disabled find employment, there was a job opening with them about 10 years ago that I was more than qualified for. 10 years of experience in a related field, and that included Acting Executive Director for another Community Service Agency. I asked my counsellor if I could put in an application. Her response was "oh no we couldnt hire a disabled person, we need someone who is capable of doing the job." I said "I am capable, as long as its part time, which it was, and I can set my own schedule, which the job would have allowed for. It said flexible hours." She said "You can put in a resume but we dont hire disabled people, its just too much trouble accommodating them." And THESE are the people who are supposed to be helping the disabled find work? They themselves wont hire disabled people who are CAPABLE of doing the job? They feel disabled employees are too much "trouble"? And yes I reported them, and as typical in Canada, nobody cares.

There maybe lot of job but can you handle them or be accepted by employer? Or... maybe you might not be seeing something but the employer that trying to rack up higher experiences worker. Unemployment and recession leave a bad taste in my mouth when come to jobs.

See if your state has a program where you go for a couple weeks (I think it was?) for group help and testing. They helped us all try to get jobs. They literally hired some people to pack beans, but who cares? It's a job, right? Seriously, ask them if they have some sort of program like that. There were people getting occupational therapy, etc. They taught me to sweep with a broom in my wheelchair. I'd never known how to do that before.
