Where are the biggest waves in nantucket?

Where are the biggest waves on the planet?

  • i've never surfed before but I want to learn. I'm looking to go out and surf the biggest and the baddest right off the bat. any suggestions?

Haha...this question is kind of funny..haha...I don't know about others....but I think The Wedge in Orange County, California has AMAZING waves...I walk there almost everyday!! But...I wouldn't go there if you're JUST learning...most of these places listed are NOT for beginners...you have to be really good to handle these types of waves. Start off at a calm beach and then move up from there...Surfing is kind of hard to learn and to get the hang of...practice makes perfect!!! Good luck!!~

If you are new to surfing then you wouldn't do well in big waves. You would have a very difficult time just getting to the "line up" without the waves crashing on top of you. You would take the wrong line and get caught inside and have triple overheads or more pushing you down and by then you would be exhausted. In other words there is a chance you could drown before even catching a wave. Getting out there is half the battle. Even if you got out there you wouldn't catch a single wave because you don't know how to catch big waves. There is no point in going to big breaks if you don't know how to surf. Would you free climb a big and rocky mountain if you never knew jow to? I doubt it because the dangers would far outweigh any potential benefit. Same applies to surfing big waves. In some areas waves reach 60 feet high and taller. Getting caught inside a wave like this would be nearly fatal to the novice surfer. Big waves are Jaws, Teahupoo, North shore, and countless more.

I assuming you're somewhat suicidal lol but Jaws in Maui is the biggest in the world. Teahupoo in Tahiti is perfect and if you really wanna push your luck haha check out The Wedge in Orange County California. Hope this helps mannnnnn.
