Waxing a surfboard.

Questions about waxing a surfboard!!!?

  • I have a surfboard and it has no wax on it. I understand that I need to apply a base wax coat on the surfboard before I put normal wax on. Where can I get base wax/base coat or ...show more

  • Answer:

I just apply a thin coat from rail to rail over the stringer a few times, then the long ways a few times in blocks; gradually builds up a good base. I just re-apply a little more as i see the need. Ask for the appropriate wax for your water temp etc.. apply the wax on a clean, cold board out of direct sun light. The guys at your local surf store will offer the best advice.
