No bears ? I would consider it an honor to have a bear sighting and Chris W. is correct, there are dangers no matter where you go . I would rather have a bear roaming the vicinity than a scorpion sneak in my boots overnight . When you stop worrying and start enjoying you will have so much more fun .

There are all kinds of camping locations without bears. These are just a few places. Bears aren't very likely to bother you. Only minor problem area is Yosemite. Too many people there keep food accessible to the bears.
