    I prefer most of the stuff from B-Pantry over the Mountain House dishes. Freeze died Ice-Cream tastes the same no matter what brand you buy. The Mountain House stuff is almost as salty at B-Pantry too. I've never really noticed a difference too much in taste, prep time, or weight. To B-Pantry's credit, I think they have a wider variety of dishes available. I'm also not a vegitarian, but have found many good meatless dishes from B-Pantry. M-House has a few better breakfast dishes. I like thier denver omlette more than B-Pantry. I can't rememeber which company makes the freeze-dried bacon & eggs. It's awesome! The eggs aren't even green when they rehydrate. Also like AlpineAire foods. Some requires actual cooking as opposed to just boiling water and rehydrating. It's packed for smaller meals, or solo cooking too....less waste! Also seems less salty.

Have been using Mountain House brand for years and years now. It is actually very good, but I would stay away from the scrambled eggs.......nasty after taste in my opinion. It is the only brand that is sold at my store but I have been buying it long before working for my current employer. Currently, I have about 15 packages of it at home, just as a backup in case of power failure or a last minute camping/backpacking trip. The ice cream is delicious but a word of warning, have plenty of water available to wash it down since it is dry when you eat it!
