What should I bring for a camping?

IM goin CAMPING for the first time with my friends what FOOD do you bring on a CAMPING TRIP?????

  • me and my friends are goin camping for the first time ever and we dont know what food to bring if you can give me suggestions it would be good

  • Answer:

If your going camping and your parking by your sleeping area the list others have provided is perfect to bring, however if your walking and packing your food in anything you can add water to works great. Also items in foil bags works great. Tuna in those lunch packs with crackers and fixings can curve a hungry stomach. Also lots of gorp=nuts, berries and chocolate bits.

We try to plan our meals ahead of time. we take an extended cooler. It keeps everything ice cold for up to 5 days- its awesome. We take the standard stuff. Hotdogs, hamburger meat( pre-pattied helps), buns, oranges, granola bars... Blah blah blah. Just take whatever is low maintenance & easy to cook fairly quickly. We don't use condiments jars and such- just stock up on packets of stuff... Go to mcdonalds or subway and ask them for mayo mustard and ketchup packets. Same with salt and pepper, plastic ware- yada yada. We also cook on a fire and take a grate to put over the fire,& then a flat non- stick griddle to go on top to grill burgers and bacon(we love bacon but its tricky on a fire if you don't know what youre doing). We are taking a propane cook thing next time though because it was just a lot of hassle to get a fire going and make cook everything up from scratch.(eggs too) But I have to admit that when you are really hungry and you have to make a fire and cook, the food seems to taste better-and it makes me feel good to put effort into something that(at home) you can just zap in the microwave.

Guesswho

Bring plenty of snacks, especially if you're planning to go running around on the trails. It always helps to have some nuts or granola. Or jerky if you like it. Carbs, and protein, man. If you have enough of this, then you won't need to worry so much about bringing all of the stuff for a huge dinner. If you're sitting around the campfire, hot dogs and marshmallows are great, along with chips. And they're easy to prepare. If you're really into it, you could bring burgers, but sometimes those get too complicated if you're a small group and don't have somebody who loves to cook. You might also want to gather the materials for S'mores (chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallows). They're a little too sweet for heavy eating, but they make a good group activity. As much as possible, try to avoid bringing too much food that needs to be refrigerated. It attracts bugs and other critters, it requires a lot of cooler space, and it spoils easily in the open air. You can bring a little soda or juice, but I find that a jug of water works just fine and you don't have to worry about keeping it cool. And of course, don't forget to bring a little cereal for the morning, along with some low-maintenance fruit such as apples or oranges. Don't forget to put all the food in the car overnight! Don't bring it into the tent or leave it out. That's a great way to invite unwanted feathered and furry friends.
