Stealth camping in Cape Cod?

  Technically there is no such thing as a private beach. If a beach boarders the ocean or other federal waterway then it is considered public land. The only exception to this is military land. Some localities may restrict camping on a beach due to safety and health regulations (no bathroom facilities, hazardous tides, etc). However a homeowner cannot restrict access to a beach. When I used to do marine law enforcement I had several encounters with homeowners trying to block off their beach. They got rude awakanings when I would fine them and destroy their barriers and signage. One guy even went to jail for beating a beach user into unconsciousness just because the guy was sitting on what the suspect thought was his beach. Cape Cod has issues because of the wealthy people that live there. If you want accurate information you need to check the state fish and wildlife dept and your state laws.
