    Well if you have quite a bit of experience get a yz125 or a cr125 if not go down to a ktm 85 big wheel

Well that's a tough one. A 250F would be the perfect bike for you, but you won't find a good one for 2 grand. Probably a "big wheel" or "expert" model 85 will be the best you can get for that money. These are the 85's with a 16" rear wheel. Also a KX100 might be a good option as well. You may want to try sitting on a 125 to see how that feels also. A decent 125 can be had for $2000.
