yes any firmwire can read any memory stick size you need to update your psp when you get the memory stick because no psp can be updated without a memory card and also is olbligatory to update your psp to play all of the first and latest psp games

DUDE!!!! don't upgrade it!!!! think about getting custom firmware!!! trust me!! google psp custom firmware. if u don't listen 2 me now u will punch yourself in the head saying"why da f**k didn't i listen 2 dat kid???" u have the greatest chance right now to get custom firmware and it will not harm your psp in anyway. it will make it even more amazing and it will do things other officail firmware psp can't do.ex)downlaod games off the internet for free(full games),get fully custom xmb themes,control your tv with your psp,psptube!!,soooo much more amazing stuff i can't name it all.the second u upgrade 2 official firmware u can't do it anymore so do it now while u got the chance!!email me if u want to get custom firmware!!! i will teach u how to get it.here is a guide 2 get custom firmware: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/569454 if u get custom firmware u won't regret it!!
