Does playing PC strategy games takes/consumes more time ?

  RTS games are time consuming compared to racing or FPS games. a match can take 15 minutes or up to 5 hours depending on the game and people in the match. The average match is 45 minutes to and hour. but if your interested in the campaign of RTS games then usually a mission lasts about 30 minutes. For me, I play RTS games because of the strategy presented. i can never do the same thing twice like in an FPS. for example in COD you will run into a camper. there are only a couple of solutions to dealing with him. but in an RTS because of the tech trees presented you and your opponents have so much more ability to control the battle by what you choose to do. but sometimes you need patience to set up a strategy. So to answer you question: Yes it takes more time to play RTS games compared to those of FPS, racing, and action games.
