  • Answer:

Ok first go to the Wii options on the menu, then go to the Wii settings. After you do that press the arrow beside the settings. Keep pressing until you see internet. Now if you have internet and you have the box that receives the internet look under neath it. There are numbers there. The SN, WEP, and MAC. Now go to the connection settings and press the connection one. The Wii will ask for one of these numbers and just press the number. It will take a couple of minutes but after you are done go to the Wii menu and go to the channels it has like the news or weather channel. If you are able to get the news and weather then you successfully connected the internet.

Step 1Options and Requirements for Getting Online Nintendo offers a free and fun online service for all Wii users. In order to connect your Wii online however, you must meet the following requirements: 1. You must have an existing broadband internet connection, such as Cable, DSL, or Fiber Optic. Please note: Satellite and Cellular (EV-DO) connections may experience problems with online game play. For more information about your connection type, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). 2. Check to see if your ISP is mentioned on our list of Internet Service Providers with known compatiblity issues with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. To view the list, click here. 3. The Wii must be able to access your broadband connection. This can be accomplished in one of two ways: * A wireless router (recommended) The Wii is compatible with most wireless routers and their security features. If you do not yet own a wireless router and would like information on what to look for, click here. If you have a wireless router and need assistance setting up your Wii, we can walk you through the process by clicking here. * A wired access point using the Wii LAN Adapter If you have a wired access point, such as wired router or broadband modem, the Wii LAN Adapter can be used to enable an ethernet connection from your wired access point to the USB ports on the Wii console. For more information on this connection type, including where to puchase the Wii LAN Adapter, click here. # On the Wii console's main menu, click on the 'Wii button' in the lower left corner. # This will take you to the settings screen. On this screen, click on 'Wii Settings'. # In the 'Wii System Settings', click on the blue arrow on the right to reach the second screen of options. On this screen, click the 'Internet' button. # Select 'Connection Settings'. # Select an open connection, indicated by 'None', as shown: # Select 'Wireless Connection'. # Select 'Search for an Access Point'. # At this point, the Wii console will search for any identifiable Access Points nearby. Once this search as completed, you will be direct to choose the Access Point that you wish to connect to, as shown. Click 'OK' to display the list of available Access Points. # Select your Access Point from the list of available Access Points. If your Access Point in not displayed, click here for tips on what you can do. If your connection appears as a closed padlock, as shown below on the connections labled as 'Internet 3' and Internet 4', then the Access Point requires a security code or passphrase. The security code or passphrase can usually be found on the security tab of your wireless router settings. Click here for more information on security settings, including how to access the settings for your Access Point. If your connection signal appears yellow or red, the stability or strength of the connection is not optimal. If possible, remove any obstacles between the Wii console and the Access Point. We've also found that changing the channel on your router to channel 1 or channel 11 can sometimes help with signal stability and strength. # Click 'Save' followed by 'OK' to save your connection settings... # ...and select OK again to start an automatic connection test.

Check to make sure your wireless router is compatible with the Nintendo Wii at the Nintendo WiFi website. If you have a brand-name router, you shouldn't have any connection problems. Step2 Start the Wii and wait for the main menu to appear. Step3 Look for the "Wii" options circle at the bottom-left corner of the screen, and move the hand to the circle. Press the "A" button. Step4 Choose the "Wii Settings" box (with the picture of the wrench) by pressing the "A" button when the hand is over the box. Step5 Move the hand over the arrow on the right side of the screen and press the "A" button. Step 6Look for "Internet" in the list of options and select it. If you don't see "Internet," use the right and/or left arrows until you see this option. Step7 Select the "Connection Settings" box, which should be at the top of the list. Step8 Choose "Connection 1 None" as the place to store your Internet connection. Step9 Move the hand over the "Wireless Connection" box and select it. Step10I nstruct the Wii to look for your wireless network by selecting the "Search for an Access Point" option. After the search completes, you need to click "OK" to see the list of available networks in your area. Step11 Choose your wireless router connection from the list by clicking it. If your router is not listed, click the "Try Again" button after you make sure your router is on and functioning properly. Step12 Wait for the Wii to test the wireless connection. If you use a password with your router, you will be prompted to enter your password. Use the hand and "A" button to input your password from the virtual keyboard, and then click "OK." Step13 Install updates for your Wii by clicking the "Yes" button that appears after you connect to the Internet.
