How do you record PS3 gameplay without a capture card or HD pvr?

    yep, get a game that offers it like call of duty. with this vid you can use a feature called theater mode. so look for games that support that feature. you will eventually need a newelectronx hd pvr, hauppauge hd pvr, dazzle, or some sort of capture card. but a vid with that feature should get you buy. alternatively you can find websites that offer to record your games, but they charge a fee and for the trial period - the recording amount of time is the same as call of duty - about 30 seconds or so.
